Seat Arona images leaked online
The Arona image has been leaked online by MQB-Coding & Retrofit ahead of its reveal next month
Seat’s rival for the Nissan Juke is based on the Ibiza and will sit below the Ateca SUV; it will go on sale later this year
Images of the Seat Arona SUV have been leaked online ahead of the car’s debut next month.
The images, published by MQB-Coding & Retrofit, show the front, side and rear profile of the Nissan Juke rival, with the styling heavily reflection its current Ateca SUV, particularly at the front end.
The leaked pictures follow a recent preview image of the Arona released on Seat’s social media channels.
That image didn’t give much away, but showed the lights, front fascia, window line and overall shape of the car when brightened.
Seat has confirmed that the Arona, its new Ibiza-based compact crossover SUV, will go on sale in December this year.
It is likely to only be available in front-wheel-drive.
Engines will be sourced from the Ibiza, including the VW Group’s new 1.5-litre TSI Evo petrol engine developing 148bhp. The range will also include a three-cylinder 1.0-litre petrol engine and a 1.6-litre diesel.
The Arona is named after a city on the Spanish island of Tenerife, and also after a town on Lake Maggiore in the Piedmont area of Italy. It will be developed and built at Seat’s Martorell headquarters in Barcelona, Spain.
Seat boss Luca de Meo said: “The Leon, the Ibiza and the new Arona, together with the Ateca, are going to strengthen Seat from a commercial, financial and brand image standpoint. 2017 is going to be a very special year for Seat.”
