Lexus CT 200h and NX models gain new safety tech
Mild cosmetic changes accompany pre-collision tech systems for both vehicles
The Optional Safety System kit for the hybrid hatch and SUV includes a pre-collision braking system that works up to 25mph and can recognise obstacles including pedestrians. The system works between 6mph and 50mph.
The hardware also allows adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning, while the driver assist functions are boosted by automatic high beam headlights and road sign assist tech.
Lexus has also added a new 10.3in infotainment system to the inside of its CT 200h, in place of the pre-facelift car’s 7in system. Both that system and the existing one in the NX come with panoramic view and cornering view functions.
No major technical changes have been made to either model, and entry prices aren’t expected to increase much beyond the £22,585 for a pre-update CT 200h and £30,995 for the pre-update NX.
